ORBIS Association
ORBIS - Cooperation and Development is an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization for Development) that has been active for 17 years in the field of Development Cooperation in various Portuguese-speaking countries, focusing particularly on access to education, improving the quality of teaching, food security, medical assistance, vocational training, and fair trade.
In Portugal, ORBIS has been concentrating on promoting human rights and education for development. It works in collaboration with partners and communities on the ground, currently implementing projects in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Based in Aveiro, ORBIS has a team of volunteers dedicated to the realization of projects and resource mobilization.

ORBIS sponsors, remotely, preschool and primary school children, ensuring enrollment, tuition, and a daily hot meal.
- My Dream is to Study!
ORBIS promotes Education for Development among primary and secondary school children and young people in Portugal, encouraging them to sponsor a Guinean student of the same age, ensuring their enrollment in Guinea-Bissau.
- Solidarity Commerce
This is a Fair-Trade project by ORBIS that sells handicrafts brought from the project implementation areas, especially from workshops and cooperatives that employ and train individuals from vulnerable groups.
- Dreams Are Born Here!
This project involves building a school in the Bairro da Coragem, in the Úcua province of Angola, so that children from the community do not have to travel 14 km to the nearest school.
