Go into the Old City and explore St. Pièrre Cathedral, gothic and lofty. This is a key city of the protestant reform, so the Mur des Réformateurs at Parc des Bastions is a must see. Unmissable also: UN’s Palais des Nations, the Broken Chair or the fabulous Ariana Museum.

The lake and mountain chains — Alpes and Jura — surround the city where luxury stores, watches and chocolats are everywhere. The Carouge and Les Grotes quarters are great artsy places to wander around. At night, before heading to the Grand Théâtre de Genève, try the creamy fondue with Chasselas wine.
