The Zoo, opened in 1884, is now one of the most prestigious parks in the world. Located within the city of Lisbon, it has about 2000 animals of almost 300 different species, many of them in danger of extinction in their natural habitat. Be amazed by the magnificent view from the cable car and watch several daily performances.

By taking action towards the protection of wildlife, educating, preserving and researching, the Zoo strives for the protection of animals, plants and their habitats on a daily basis.

How to get there

  • Bus (Carris routes): 701, 716, 726, 731, 746, 754, 755, 758, 768, 770, 771, 55B – Lisbon Zoo is within walking distance (10 meters) of Sete-Rios stop . 
  • Train: Sete-Rios station (Sintra line, Azambuja line, Évora line, Beja line and Fertagus).
  • Metro: Jardim Zoológico station (Blue line).
  • Parking: underground and outdoor parking (paid) next to the main entrance.

Schedule

  • Summer Schedules (from March 21 to September 20)
    • Open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (Ticket offices close at 6:45 pm, including re-entries).
  • Winter Schedules (from September 21 to March 20)
    • Open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (Ticket offices close at 5:15 pm, including re-entries).
