Romance

The current name which succeeded the initial "São Cristóvão" given by the Portuguese, absolutely reflects the landscapes of the island.
Plan your trip to Boa Vista and...

Make a date with the beach

There are 55 km of sand and crystal-clear water. And as well as deserted beaches ideally suited for those moments for two, there are also the famous beaches of Chaves and Estoril for water sports fans. Or the Ponta do Ervatão and Baía das Gatas to watch the wildlife. And of course Morro de Areia dunes by the sea.

Come and see with your own eyes

Sal Rei is the capital of the least populated island of Cape Verde and the starting point, with good restaurants and the mornas echo. The Pico D’Estância, the highest point, is a place for contrasts - because not only are there dunes in Boavista, there is also the Viana desert, a type of miniature Sahara.

What to do in Boa Vista, Cape Verde?

Boa Vista is only about 30km long and 30km wide but there are plenty of things to do:

  • Swim, sunbathe, and relax on the shores of the Sal Rei beach.
  • Visit the ruins of the deserted village of Curral Velho, the oldest settlement of Boa Vista, currently an important sea life habitat.
  • Explore the wreckage of the M/S Cabo Santa Maria right out of the water in Praia de Atalanta.
  • Visit the quaint churches at Fundo das Figueiras.
