Entry requirements for citizens from the EU, EEA and Switzerland

Citizens of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland cannot enter the United Kingdom with only a Citizen Card or a Lifetime Identity Card as identification document, and must present a passport.

Exceptions:

Citizens from the EU, EEA and Switzerland referred to in the previous points can use their identification documents/ID cards to enter the UK until December 31st, 2025. Identity cards can be used after this date if they meet the security requirements defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
